Through the Peeping Hole. by ~lyrabella:iconlyrabella:

“She’s the new kid on the block!”,
Yelled Mary-Jane Sue.
The kids gathered ‘round the garden clock
And whispered, “Why’s she so blue?”.

The proud Mary-Jane puffed out her chest,
“There’s naught about her that I don’t know.
She’s blue because she failed her test!”.
Boastfully, Mary-Jane began to glow.

“She’s dumb as a dodo in my opinion,
Sitting stupidly at her window sill.
Tightly hugging her cozy cushion
Whose edges are laced with frills.”.

“I think she must have come from Mars
-what hairy limbs she’s got!-
She hides behind those iron bars
As though she’d soon get shot!”.

“But that’s not all,” cried Mary-Jane
Now triumph was in her wake,
“The boys in her old neighbourhood
Must have thought her plump as a cake!”.

The kids roared and continued to tease
Till Little Johnny quipped,
“But Sue, how do you know all these?”
She smiled and stayed tight-lipped.

***

Watching from her bird’s eye view
The New Kid wept anew.
She knew their gossip was not few;
What else, when it was MJ Sue?

Silent screams of sadness stemmed
From her heart and it seeped, as
She resolved to nail that damned hole
Through which MJ had peeped.

This is one of the two pieces that I penned for a school assignment. Each of us had to write two pieces of poetry that was themed on "Perception". The other piece is also on deviantART. Hope you enjoyed this piece.
